As an organisation which has operated from Yorkshire for the past 21 years and employs a team that largely resides within the region, Yorkshire Day 2022 is undoubtedly a day of celebration for everyone at networx.

Whilst we don’t need much of an excuse to shout about everything that’s great about our historic county, today, Monday August 1st is the perfect platform for everyone to celebrate the many traditions, history, food and customs that the UK’s largest county is well known for.

From the idyllic and picturesque countryside, to the iconic Yorkshire Pudding, Wensleydale Cheese, and Yorkshire Tea there is so much to be proud of. It’s home to the oldest city ( Ripon), has the highest pub in England, the oldest football club in the world (Sheffield FC) and is currently being shown to millions through the latest film release, The Railway Children Return. It’s not only a beautiful and historic county but also considered home to many famous faces including Guy Fawkes, The Bronte Sisters, David Hockney, Dame Judy Dench, Sir Captain Tom Moore, Ed Sheeran, Zayne Malik, and Jessica Ennis-Hill.

Taking place on Monday August 1, Yorkshire Day has been celebrated since 1975 and it seems that everyone is still as proud and keen to celebrate as they were then. This year, even Alexa has been given an update to celebrate ‘God’s own country’ giving everyone access to some of the counties most unique sayings and phrases.

As a team we will be raising a cup of Yorkshire Tea whilst sharing some of the best known facts about Yorkshire at our Head Office in Leeds.

To all our employees, suppliers and clients, we wish you a very Happy Yorkshire Day 2022!
