June is Pride month. A month dedicated to celebrating the LGBTQ+ communities all around the world, whilst educating in pride history and forging forward for greater equality.
This month many will go to parades, marches and Covid-friendly Zoom and social media gatherings to connect and further encourage the conversation about celebrating diversity and how we can all contribute to creating a more inclusive society.
Pride started on 28th June 1970 in New York, as a commemorative parade on the one year anniversary of the Stonewall riots. The parade was a public sign of unity spreading awareness of the LBGTQ community. London joined the celebration in 1972 and Leeds later followed suit in 2006, hosting their own vibrant Pride parade weekend.
At networx we are proud to be growing our own inclusive workforce, further supporting a large number of clients nationwide to pioneer greater diversity through their recruitment and candidate attraction initiatives, from gender decoding advert content, through to reducing bias in candidate selection and sifting. As all cities around the world launch their own unique campaign to spread awareness, love and support in their own way, we empower our clients too, to focus on their individual contribution to drive greater equality, diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
We would like to wish all our colleagues, clients and candidates celebrating, a very happy Pride in 2021.Back to blog page
