networx, recruitment software and service provider,  are pleased to share that North Lincolnshire Council have been named on the shortlist at the IHR Awards for Best Recruitment Team of the year for the work they pioneered alongside networx, innovating their recruitment.

The In House Recruiter Awards is one of the most prestigious talent acquisition award ceremonies, celebrating and recognising the achievements of teams, organisations and individuals in the talent profession across the UK. In its 10th year, the awards will see a return to face-to-face award events on 1st December at Park Plaza, Westminster Bridge, and it is set to be a fantastic occasion for the industry.

The event has categories covering a wide range of areas, from best candidate experience, through to future talent initiative, and North Lincolnshire Council have been shortlisted for Best Recruitment Team (Medium), nominated alongside Arla Foods, NHS Digital and Utilita Energy. The Best Recruitment Team is judged based on the achievements of North Lincolnshire Council’s recruitment strategy, the progress they have made across the last 12 months in improving efficiencies, utilising technology and collaborating in partnership with providers, such as networx.

In 2020 North Lincolnshire Council embarked upon an organisation-wide environmental initiative, seeking to dramatically reduce paper-use and their overall impact on the environment. Through this departmental appraisal, it became clear that a reasonable proportion of paper-use in the HR and recruitment team was due to ineffective procedures in the recruitment process and that through digital transformation, not only could they improve efficiency and a number of crucial recruitment metrics, but they could address their environmental challenges too.

The team at North Lincolnshire Council saw this as an opportunity to really innovate and improve the perception of the council and their commitment to drive local employment. Key objectives from the outset included improving the candidate experience, reducing the time-to-hire, delivering greater internal flexibility through process efficiency, all whilst providing a better experience for the internal and external stakeholders.

After selecting their provider, networx, they have undertaken a huge transformation project to update all their internal processes and their external positioning as employers. With IT literacy mixed across the team, they have worked to ensure the processes and workflows are intuitive, easy-to-use and accessible for all hiring managers across the organisation. From a comprehensive communications roll out plan, through to training adapted to suit all different learning styles, North Lincolnshire Council have considered every individual element of a project of this size, to ensure they not only achieve their goals, but everyone internally joins the journey with them and buys into the project.

This huge undertaking took a great deal of organisation, commitment and a brilliant team to execute and they stand amongst other fantastic businesses in being up for this tremendous accolade at the IHR awards.

North Lincolnshire Council and networx are both incredibly proud to be recognised in the shortlist and will celebrate alongside peers on 1st December at the IHR awards.
