The Pension Protection Fund (PPF)

The Pension Protection Fund (PPF) is a statutory public corporation. As the UK’s largest pension fund, the PPF protects millions of people nationwide who are members of defined benefit pension schemes, to ensure that they will be looked after if the scheme they have paid into fails.
Challenge

PPF were looking for an end-to-end recruitment solution to increase the use of automation throughout their internal processes. From data extraction to their HR system, to utilising digital contracts and improving the overall candidate online experience, PPF partnered with networx to support them with their digital transformation.

Solution

Initially starting with managed recruitment campaigns, networx worked as an extension of the in-house PPF talent team to execute searches, curate adverts and promote vacancies to specified target audiences. This has enabled PPF to reduce reliance on agencies and manage vacancies with greater efficiency in house.

Building on their campaign success, PPF recently worked with networx to implement a bespoke solution automating their processes across the board. This streamlined digital experience not only removed manual administration, but encouraged greater interaction in the recruitment process from hiring managers, enabling them to review and sift candidates centralised within the networx ATS.

Introducing flexible modules, such as Docusign for contracts, automated data extraction into their HR system and automating the vacancy authorisation chain, enables PPF to easily track and manage vacancies throughout the entire process. Their new digital onboarding experience, completes the process and has further improved the candidate experience, reducing costs and reducing time-to-hire.

Despite some challenges faced through implementation of their system, networx showed great flexibility in achieving critical project milestones, particularly during a period where we were all required to work from home. They had simple solutions to ensure stakeholders were kept informed and updated regularly; every answer was always answered fully with no question being a ‘stupid’ question.

Our biggest success was implementing the digitised on-boarding platform, used by candidates that secure a role with the PPF; this has replaced our existing manual on-boarding process that was more time-consuming and costly.
